I'm actually going!!!

I have been waiting since I began college to study abroad in Japan, because my minor is Japanese. Then I attempted to apply to Kansai Gaidai in Kyoto, but alas, they were not accepting anyone from CSU. Since it was an exchange program and they had not sent us any students for a while, there were no spots available. Then, my roommate Christina and another girl from our Japanese class, Rachel began the process to apply to Yamagata University. It was strange and new, because CSU has never sent anyone over to this sister university that Beecken-sensei's summer trippers go to every summer. Since they are on a different school system (the semester begins in April and ends in late July), we were struggling to fill out forms. They still don't have the Spring 2009 schedule up to my current knowledge. We just found out during finals week...

WE'RE ACCEPTED!!!!

I cried when I found out and leapt into Matt's arms, I was so excited.

The process has begun. I'm looking at flights and figuring out how I'm getting there and I'm ridiculously excited! I've only been going through the study abroad paperwork for a year now and it seems to have paid off. I can't wait to be there! I'll miss my boyfriend, my home, my friends and family, but... I'm going to Japan!

If my flight is still on March 26th 2009... 87 days left!!
